On the outside of the new car, you’ll see that the pins in the grille have now been replaced with an eye-catching star pattern, while the body is slimmer and sportier than before with muscular powerdomes on the bonnet. And under the hood, you’ll find a range of engine options with electrified drivetrains.

On the open road, one of the biggest obstacles to efficiency is highly noticeable – even though it’s invisible. You probably guessed it… it’s aerodynamic drag, which can have a big influence on the range. During a normal long-distance drive, a conventional electric vehicle consumes almost two-thirds of its battery capacity just by pushing its way through the air ahead. For the , however, with its extremely low drag coefficient of 0.17, this is a comparatively easy task.

But what makes this vehicle an ? Let's take a closer look.

The VISION EQXX has a number of less visually obvious – but equally important – active and passive aerodynamic details such as a small frontal area. Another is the air curtain/air breather at the front bumper. This ingenious layout pairs with the wheel covers to remove almost every last whisper of aerodynamic separation from the front wheels. And while all that’s going on, air pathways even guide additional cooling air over the bonnet, with cooling shutters opening if necessary. This reduces the interference drag around the mirrors and lowers overall drag compared with a conventional outlet into the underbody.
